El-Ahly Lost… So What?

 By Shreef Mostafa

Yesterday El-Zamalek sporting club was able to put an end for El-Ahly success in the derby games and was able to beat El-Ahly “Youth and second row players” (0/2). They deserved the win because they played better and they had no other choice but to win because they will never get a chance like this to play against El-Ahly without the superstars in the future, so they used their chance really well.

El-Ahly tried so hard to be in the game but the players were nervous for no reason, they gave the chance to El-Zamalek to dominate the game and control the play, although when El-Ahly attacked the players have wasted so many chances that could have turned the score to a draw at least, but there was no luck besides they players didn’t know how to finish the attack the right way. It was only because of the lack of experience for these players.

El-Badri who’s coaching the team temporally, made a mistake by assigning Shekabala to Ashour, this made the midfield look so empty and this was the main reason for losing the control over the midfield plus El-Ahly looked as if they were playing with 10 players. He should have assigned the closest player to Shekabala to watch him instead of what he has done. Anyway, the game wasn’t that bad, we have discovered new players who can be something big in the future if they gained the experience such as:

Ameer: who was the man of the match, and I guess El-Hadari should be worried about his place in the future.

Ahmed Adel: who proved that he’s a very good right wing player, but he really needs to gain experience.

Ahmed Seddek: who proved like always that he could be a playmaker and can be a good substitute for Abu Trika plus playing as a wing right.

Ahmed Galal: who proved that he will be the next superstar for El-Ahly although that he didn’t have enough time to play, but in those few minutes he was able to bother Zamalek’s defenders and was about to score yesterday.

Hassan Mostafa: who tried yesterday to link between the strikers and defenders, but this role was totally new for him, he just needs to slow down and use his mind a little bit more to be so dangerous.

These players were what El-Ahly won yesterday for the future. However, there were some players that really didn’t show any good sign and they were playing against us with their wearied performance such as:

Ahmed El-Sayed: who was the reason for the first goal by his amateur mistake when he passed the ball to Shekabala who knew exactly what to do with the ball. Not only that but he caused the second goal as well because he was so slow and couldn’t stop Mohamed Abu El-Ela.

Mohamed Seddek: who was playing another game than the one we watched yesterday. I guess this is his last game with El-Ahly!!!!

Boja: who was watching the game as we did and was only good in falling and looking at the referee!!! Boja, Safax is waiting for you!!!!

Ahmed Sheded: who has very good skills, but his body is too little and can’t perform in matches like that. He couldn’t make a single attack!!!

Osama Hosni: who was “angry” from the beginning of the match and was not focused at all. This was so wearied because we never saw him like that before.

Hossam Ashur: who was present by name only because he was assigned to watch Shekabala and I guess he couldn’t do the assignment right nor was able to participate in building attacks for El-Ahly.

Finally, we have to thank the two players, Wael Gomma and Ahmed belal for the huge effort they put in the game, Wael was the saver and was able to stop Gamal Hamza and the whole attacking line of El-Zamalek, and because of him the score stayed at 2 although he was the reason for El-Zamalek PK, but other than that he was the man of the match with Ameer. Ahmed Belal on the other hand, tried his best and he was trying to do something but because there was no help or assistance from the midfield line all of his efforts were wasted.

Anyway, the performance was not that bad, but the players needed more time to play together to perform better than yesterday, and El-Badri should really look for a player who can make the link between the defenders and the strikers (Wael Reyad for example) as soon as possible before we face El-Ismaili because if we played the same way we played the first half, we’ll have a heavy defeat really heavy!!!!
